School Fees

At Mildura Primary School we strive to provide the best possible education for your children.

Government funding covers teachers’ wages, essential curriculum support and some general funding. In order to give your child the education they deserve we need parents to contribute a small amount of money every year. Voluntary parent contributions are for essential items, but families are also welcome to make extra payments allocated to special areas, such as the library, welfare programs, or buildings.

Thank you in advance for paying this year’s fees!

What is free

Victorian government schools teach the standard curriculum to all students for free. Tax-payer funding covers just the basics of the school, including the teacher salaries, building and facilities, and extra funding for children with a disability.

What Fees Cover

Fees cover items that are essential to help your child learn the standard curriculum. Each school decides which items are necessary for their school. At Mildura Primary, items include text books, work books, stationery, digital subscriptions for online learning programs, and materials used for classes such as art or STEM.

Voluntary payments

We invite voluntary payments which are for a specific purpose, such as for digital devices and materials. You can choose whether to give a voluntary payment, how much you want to contribute and specifically where it goes to.

Who decides the costs

Our school council decides costs, fees and essential items - guided by departmental policy in order to meet our community's needs.  For more information
