History

history.jpgConstruction of Mildura Primary School, as we know it today, was first begun at our current site in 1891, and a second building was established later that year. At this point in time, enrolment was 324 children, but had grown to 503 by the end of 1891.
In these early days Mildura Primary School was one of two schools in the district, the other being Gol Gol. Some children even rowed across the Murray River from New South Wales to attend.

Overcrowding was a problem, however this was relieved somewhat with the construction of Nichols Point and Irymple in 1893 and 1894.

Mildura Primary School incorporated two locations up until the end of 2011. The picture to the right shows the Junior Campus. The Infant Site, in Twelfth Street, was built in 1955.
